Is your PC slow and slow to connect? Try defragmenting and optimizing your system
Have you noticed that computers are gradually slowing down over time?
One of the causes of this loss of performance is hard disk fragmentation.
Whenever you record something on your computer, Windows allocates it differently, so you can put those files in different “corners” of the disk.
This happens because when an old file is removed, the space it occupies becomes vague, thus creating a “hole” in the disk. Subsequently, the new programs installed are divided into several fragments to occupy these holes, damaging the speed of reading the data.
In this way, a program capable of performing a real reordering of this information is necessary, joining all the data in a practically sequential way and leaving everything much more organized.
Just start Auslogics Disk Defrag to realize that the program is not for fun, because it goes straight to the point. The software automatically identifies all the disks of your computer, already mapping in your main screen the fragments of your HD.
It is also on the home screen that you make use of the main tools of the software. Everything is accessed through the main tab, located in the upper left of the fragment map of your HD. This is where you choose from the three options available from Auslogics Disk Defrag:
- Analyze: here it performs a new analysis to identify all the clusters of the HDs installed in your PC;
- Defrag: the program’s simplest option, here it quickly works to reorder the allocation of files inside the hard disks of your computer;
- Degrag & Optimize: In this tool, in addition to defragmenting the HD, it also reallocates the main files of the system to the faster regions of the disk, something that can make your machine even faster;
- Quick Defrag: In its last option, Auslogics Disk Defrag allows you to do a quick, temporary work that works well for those who do not have the time to take the full version.
For those who never remember certain tasks, like defragmenting the PC periodically, for example, Auslogics Disk Defrag brings very useful tools. It allows you to schedule periodic defragmentations; just mark the frequency and the desired time.
The software also has other useful options, such as having a shortcut added to the Windows context menu, preventing certain files from being analyzed, not analyzing SSD memories and setting your work priority, something fundamental for those who want to continue using the PC while Auslogics Disk Defrag works.
Our opinion about Auslogics Disk Defrag
Auslogics Disk Defrag is a program designed to work exclusively with the defragmentation of the hard disks of your computer. The software has a well organized interface that is easy to use, especially for those who have a little less experience with this type of tool.
The visualization of the tools of the program happens already in its main screen, which leaves everything very dynamic. Auslogics Disk Defrag also starts working as soon as it starts, something that pleases – after all, it automatically identifies and points the disks and their characteristics.
During our tests, Auslogics Disk Defrag was able to work quickly and satisfactorily whenever it was requested. “Normal” defragmentation is agile, which virtually eliminates the need for you to use the faster version of the tool. In our tests, a 400 GB disk took about five minutes to be defragmented by the software.
The optimization option through system file relocation is slower, but that does not make it dull. She also showed up fast and in about 30 minutes the jobs were fully finalized.
It is worth remembering, however, that the volume of information recorded in HD and its size can greatly influence these results, so the time presented here can serve as a parameter for you to calculate, more or less, how much the application it will take time to work on your PC.
Organized but not cleaned
Auslogics Disk Defrag works well as a defragmenter, however, it could also rely on a native file cleanup tool. This “collection” is due to the fact that the program indicates, after working, how much of this type was found during the process.
The information comes to work as an advertisement for other software from the same developers, however it is a bit uncomfortable for you to receive a die, click on the button to solve the problem and end up being forwarded to a web page. In short, this may even end up deceiving less experienced people.
Keep your PC always defragmented
Auslogics Disk Defrag also has tools for scheduling, something fundamental for the forgotten on call. Here you are able to mark how often the program should go live and what type of work should be done.
As for customization, there are good alternatives within the software, such as having it ignore SSD drives or files with a certain overall size. Of breaking, you are still able to insert it in the Windows context menu. With this, Auslogics Disk Defrag allows you to defragment folders and files in isolation.
Pros & Cons
- Fast and efficient
- Clear and modern interface
- Quick identification of HDs
- Function for fast and optimized work
- Although pointing out the need for cleaning, it does not have this built-in tool
